GG Gucci Belt Bag

Top 6 hints & tips

Every week, we're going to bring you a new item!

Today we're going to be looking in depth at the GG Supreme Cross-body Belt bag from Gucci.

We'll give you some tips, general info, help authenticating, and in this case Real vs Fake content.

ZIPPERS

What we we were drawn to at first glance was the difference in shape, size & colour of the zipper teeth on the front, top and inside of the bag (the part of the zip that joins together when closing the zip).

The teeth on the authentic bag are a lot more longer in height, more spaced out and silver on the authentic bag.

The teeth on the fake bag are crammed together, not spaced very well and have an almost gold/bronze shimmer to them.

This relates to all the zippers on the bag.

COLOUR

The second thing that caught our eye when we authenticated this bag was the colour difference.

The colour of the real bag is a lot more darker in comparison to the fake one.

This is possibly hard to see when not side by side with the fake one, but we would like to point that out!

GUCCI TABS

If you take a look now at the 'Gucci made in Italy' tab (you'll find this on the front of the bag and also on the inside), you'll notice how on the real bag the embossed text is a lot more defined, thinner and easier to read.

LEATHER PANELS

If you take a look at the leather panels that attach the straps to the bag, you'll notice how on the fake bag the leather panels are very poor quality, it looks like a grained leather & on the fake bag, the end of the strap is visible under the leather panel.

If you now look at the authentic bag, the leather panelling looks super smooth, it doesn't look like a grainy/cracked leather.

The leather paneling to touch on the authentic bag is very soft and smooth.

This is also the same for the leather trim on the inside of the bag around the zip.

BUCKLE

Another huge red flag when comparing these two bags is the buckle!

On the fake Gucci bag we noticed that the buckle reflected the light and looked overly shiny.

But on the authentic bag no matter how you aimed it towards the light, it didn't reflect light but only gave off a sort of shimmer.

BELT LOOP

The final thing we want to tell you about, is the belt loop!

On the authentic bag, the two rows of stitching are pretty spaced apart, whereas on the fake bag, they're quite crammed!

On the fake bag there is a little piece of metal holding the belt loop together, this is not however on the authentic bag.

LEATHER PANELS

If you take a look at the leather panels that attach the strap to the bag, you'll notice how. on the fake bags leather panel it is very poor quality, it looks like a grained leather & on this particular fake bag, you can see the strap underneath.

On the other hand, if you look at the authentic bag, the leather panelling looks super smooth, it doesn't look like a grainy/cracked leather either.

The leather paneling to touch on the authentic bag is very soft and smooth.

STRAP BUCKLE

Another huge red flag when comparing these two bags, was the clasp buckle which joins the straps!

On the fake Gucci bag we noticed that the buckle reflected the light and looked overly shiny.

But on the authentic bag no matter how you aimed it towards the light, it didn't reflect but only gave a sort of shimmer.

THE BELT LOOP

The final thing we want to tell you about, is the belt loop!

On the authentic bag, the two rows of stitching are pretty spaced apart, where as on the fake bag, they're quite crammed!

On the fake bag there is a little piece of metal to hold it together, this is not on the authentic bag.
